UPPER WESTFORK VFD RESPONDS TO MUTUAL AID REQUEST IN ROANE

The Upper West Fork Volunteer Fire Department responded to a mutual aid call from Roane firefighters Thursday afternoon. Firemen were battling a forest fire in the Tariff-Linden section of the county. Firemen were on scene for several hours. Dozens of fires have been burning in the Mountain State during the past 72 hours, with rain now in the forecast.
