Orma L. Connard, 94, of Grantsville

Orma L. Connard, 94, of Grantsville, WV went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 7, 2018.

She was born on March 8, 1924 in Calhoun County, WV, a daughter of the late Arlie and Nellie Stutler Ayers.

Orma was a member of Knotts Memorial Methodist Church. She loved to attend church, garden, and travel.

She traveled out of the country with the Peace Corp. teaching others. She had been district manager for K-Mart Rock Garden Shops in southern region, she belonged to the hospital auxiliary and she did volunteer work at the library.

She is survived by one daughter, Lenn Phillips; two granddaughters, Debbie Parsons and husband Jim Parsons and Billie Jo Beverly and husband; four step-children, Margaret, Dianna, David, and Adolph; four great-grandchildren, Joshua Parsons, Cody Parsons, Brooklyn Parsons, and Haven Connard Beverly; and two brothers, Herman Ayers and Raymon Ayers.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William R. Shaffer, second husband, Adolph H. Connard; sister, Frances Spencer and husband David; one step-son; one granddaughter; and one great-granddaugher.

A funeral service will be held at Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc., Grantsville, on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Rick Metheney officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Hunt Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.stumpfuneralhomes.com
