Burl L. Wyer, 76, of Elizabeth

Burl L. Wyer, 76, of Elizabeth passed away Monday, April 9, 2018 at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

He was born June 1, 1941 in Wirt County, West Virginia a son of the late Buck and Virginia Wyer. Burl served in the United States Army and retired from Ames. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading westerns, watching the Cincinnati Reds, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Gertrude Wyer; son Nathan Wyer (Stacey); daughters Kimberly Goodwin (Jay) and Rachel Wyer; grandchildren Jaci Cheeseman (Eric), Emma Wyer, Easton Wyer, and Elynn Wyer; brother Jimmy Wyer; sisters Linda Sue White (Elliott), Barb Cochran (Mike), Loretta Kornbluth (Bud), and Gloria Sidwell.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Phyllis Garland and brothers Wayne Wyer, Ronnie Wyer, David Wyer, Willard Wyer, Roger Wyer, and Harold Wyer.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Matheny Whited Funeral Home in Elizabeth with the Rev. Delmas Stutler officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 10 from 4-8 p.m. and 1 hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

Interment will be Stutler-Cooper Cemetery of Calhoun County. The family would like to send a special thank you to the ICU staff at Camden Clark Medical Center for there excellent care and compassion.
