Camden Bumgardner, Sr., 89, of Palestine

Camden Bumgardner, Sr., 89, of Palestine, West Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Eagle Pointe Nursing Home in Parkersburg, West Virginia.

He was born September 17, 1928 in Wirt County, a son of the late Burley and Winnie Halbert Bumgarner. He was retired from Weirton Steel, enjoyed hunting, attended the Southern Baptist Fellowship of Elizabeth and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Camden is survived by his children, Camden Bumgarner, Jr. of Palestine and Deborah Kay and Ed Mick of Weirton; and his preachers children, Nathaniel Watkins and Hannah Hardvarger, who affectionately called him Grandpa Cam.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Lou Bennett Bumgarner in 2014 and an infant son, David Bumgarner.

The family would like to give special thanks to Pastor John and Cathy Watkins, Jon Sims, Eagle Pointe nurses and aides, Amendisys Hospice, and Doctors Powderly and Haas.

Service will be at 1:00pm on Friday, April 6, 2018 at the Southern Baptist Fellowship of Elizabeth with Pastor John Watkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Two Run Cemetery near Palestine. Visiting will be Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00pm at the church.

The Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer, West Virginia is in charge of the arrangements.
