Bill Arden Mullins, 77, of Spencer, West Virginia died March 31, 2018 at the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia after an extended illness.

Bill was born September 26, 1940 in Calvin, Nicholas County, West Virginia. He loved to travel and formerly lived in Charleston, Huntington, Lewisburg and Hawaii among others.

He served in the US Army for three years and was stationed in Hawaii as an aviation mechanic and it was there that he learned and loved to fly. He obtained his pilot's license and worked in aviation since as a flight instructor in airplanes and helicopters.

He worked as a chief pilot in commercial and private applications and air taxis. He was a highly respected aircraft mechanic and rebuilt several airplanes and helicopters. He later worked as a helicopter rep in sales and service.

Bill had a brilliant mind and thoroughly enjoyed his aviation career. He received the Wright Brothers "Master Pilot" award from the FAA for 50 years of dedicated service and professionalism. His last year or so was spent in Eldercare of Ripley.

Per his request, his body was cremated. TAYLOR-VANDALE FUNERAL HOME, Spencer is in charge of arrangements. There will be no service or visitation. His ashes will be buried at a later date at the Harry C. Boggs Memorial Airport Cemetery.
