3/30/2018 - The Grantsville VFD responded to the Big Bend area at 2:35 p.m. Friday to a single vehicle accident, the driver of the vehicle lost control, went over an embankment and hit a tree.
The driver,identified as Geoffrey Shaffer of Rowels Run, about 30, appeared to have some serious injuries and was taken to Minnie Hamilton Health System.
The car was traveling east on State Route 5, when the accident happened, about one mile west of Big Bend. A telephone pole was also clipped
Calhoun Sheriff Jeff Starcher is investigating.
The victim was sent to a trauma center.
