CALHOUN SCHOOLS MAKING SCHEDULE ADJUSTMENTS RELATED TO RECENT STRIKE

Calhoun Superintendent of Schools Kelli Whytsell is making recommendations to the Calhoun Board of Education on March 12 regarding school calendar adjustments related to days missed by the strike. Make-Up Days:  March 26, 2018: OS to Full Instructional Day ( 1st day of Spring Break)  March 27, 2018: OS to Full Instructional Day ( 2nd day of Spring Break)  March 28, 2018: OS to Full Instructional Day ( 3rd day of Spring Break) March 29-April 3, 2018 will still be Spring Break. Whytsell said Calhoun Schools will honor Request for Educational Leave by parents for Spring Break, by contacting the school secretary/ Other schedule changes:  May 25, 2018: Preparation to Full Instructional Day  May 29, 2018: Teacher-Pupil-Parent to Full Instructional Day  May 30, 2018: Out of Calendar to Full Instructional Day  May 31, 2018: Out of Calendar to Full Instructional Day ( Last Day for Students)  June 1, 2018: Last day for staff. Whytsell said graduation day will remain the same. Seniors will graduate on May 18. Teachers, Counselors, and School Administrators will work closely with seniors to make sure they are fully prepared for graduation. The date the third grading period will be ending to balance the 3rd and 4th grading periods. The third grading period will end on March 22, 2018. Parent-Teacher Conference Date: Elementary April 10, 2018 and CMHS April 12, 2018
