CALHOUN SCHOOLS CLOSED TUESDAY - 9th Day School Strike, Thousands Rally In Charleston, Food Bags Available Tuesday

Calhoun Schools, and likely all 55 WV county school systems, will be closed Tuesday, the 9th day of the school strike. Food bags will be available for pick up at Arnoldsburg School, Pleasant Hill School and Calhoun County Board of Education from 2:00-3:00 pm Tuesday. Thousands of teachers and supporters rallied at the Capitol Monday. Keeping schools shut for 277,000 students and 35,000 employees has been determined on a day-to-day basis. In a state with a large percent poverty rate, teachers and volunteers have gathered food for distribution to students who rely on free breakfasts and lunches at school.
