Kennith Lee Straley, 66, of Parkersburg

Kennith Lee Straley, 66, of Parkersburg, WV passed away Monday, February 19, 2018, surrounded by family at Camden-Clark Medical Center.

Kennith was born May 25, 1951 in Glenville, WV, the son of the late George Stillman Straley, and Edith Bessie (Montgomery) Straley.

He was a 1971 graduate of Calhoun County High School, where he was President of Future Farmers of America, played football, and wrestled. After graduating, Kennith served his country, and joined the United States Army. Kennith relocated to Parkersburg. He retired, with 34 years of service, as Millwright and Lathe Operator, and had served as president of the union, with Corning Glass Works and Schott Scientific Glass. Kennith enjoyed being outdoors, farming, fishing, and hunting, as well as spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Matthew Scott Straley, and his beloved dogs, 2 Lobos. He is survived by his family whom he loved very much, his wife, of 48 years, Connie Sue (Richards) Straley, of Parkersburg, WV; two children, son, Christopher Straley, of Washington, DC; daughter, Kelly Straley, of Parkersburg, WV; son-in-law, Artie Bray, also of Washington, DC; brother, Danny Straley, of Ashtabula, Ohio; sister, Margaret Straley, of Spencer, WV; and foster parents, Jim and Evelynn McCormick of Grantsville, WV. Although we are apart for now, you are always with us in spirit and in our hearts, walking with us.

A special thanks to the AMEDISYS Hospice, especially to Nichole, Teresa, Donavan, the kind nurses and ambulance services of Camden-Clark Hospital, and Eastwood Volunteers.

A funeral service will be held at Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc., Grantsville, WV on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Big Springs Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc.
