Cecil Raymond Reed, 76, of Auburn

Cecil Raymond Reed, 76, of Auburn, WV departed this life at 5:09 AM; Thursday, February 15, 2018 at the Genesis Health Care, Glenville Center following an extended illness. Born June 12, 1941 in Gilmer County, Cecil is the son of the late Hazel and Goldie Butler Reed.

Cecil was a welder for the Larson Consolidated Foundry in Grafton, Ohio. After taking retirement in the early 2000's, Cecil and his wife Carolyn moved to Auburn to enjoy the quiet life in West Virginia. Cecil had a great sense of humor, he loved hunting, a good steak dinner, and spending time with his wife Carolyn.

In his spare time, Cecil loved to go hunting, eating a good steak dinner, laughing and spending time with family and friends, and spending time with his wife Carolyn Sue.

On May 26, 1962 Cecil was united in marriage to Carolyn Sue Rittenhouse Reed, who survives in Glenville, WV.

Surviving are 3 children, Rick Reed (Judi) of Rock Hill, SC; Paul Reed (Theresa) of Westland, MI; and Karen Cunningham of Lorain, OH; and 5 siblings, Barbara Hornsby (Ray) of Auburn, Bob Reed (Nancy) of Auburn, Dora Smarr of Glenville, WV; Linda Osborne (Danette) of Auburn, and Christina Dorsey (Danny) of Texas.

Also surviving are 8 grandchildren Justin Reed, Courtney Vaugh, Graysie Cunningham, Misty Reed, and Danielle Bockmore all of Ohio, Joseph and Ryan Reed of South Carolina, Faith Reed of Michigan, and 4 great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents, Cecil is preceded in death by 2 brothers, Howard and Everett Reed.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 PM; Monday, February 19, 2018 at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc; 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV. Friends will be received from 11-1 Monday at the funeral home in Glenville. Cremation burial will follow at a later date in 2018.
