SPENCER GETS $800,000 FOR WASTEWATER IMPROVEMENTS

Senators Joe Manchin and Shelley Moore Capito announced Wednesday that the Appalachian Regional Commission has awarded $892,820 to support economic development projects throughout West Virginia. The City of Spencer is receiving $800,000 for wastewater system improvements. Officials say the city will "make critical repairs to its wastewater plant and collection system, bringing the system into compliance with current quality standards." In addition to the ARC funds, "local sources" will provide $704,000 for the project, bringing the total funding to $1,504,000.
