GENEVIEVE MORGAN LUDWIG - Wirt Co. Former Calhoun

Mrs. Genevieve (Granny Prue) Morgan Ludwig, 96, of Camp Barbe Road, Wirt County, departed this life Jan. 6, 2003, in Ravenswood Care Center, Ravenswood, following an extended illness. She was born Feb. 26, 1906, in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Elihue (Hugh) and Lillie Laughlin Morgan. She was a lifelong Wirt County homemaker, and, in her early years, became a member of the Baptist church at Liberty High, Calhoun County. After moving to Wirt County, she attended Beulah Hill Presbyterian Church for more than 25 years, and, later, attended the Elizabeth Nazarene Church. She spent much of her life caring for her neighbors and the infirmed, and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She will be missed by one son, Chester (Burrhead) Ludwig and his wife, Pat, of Elizabeth; one grandson, Mark Ludwig of Elizabeth; one granddaughter, Wirt County Clerk Suellen Calebaugh and her husband, Mike, of Elizabeth; four great-grandchildren, Lt. Laurie Basabe, USN, of Chesapeake, Va., Natalie Casto of Barboursville, Daniel Ludwig and David Calebaugh, both of Elizabeth; one great-great-granddaughter, Trinity Casto of Barboursville; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, McKinley (Mack) Ludwig in 1975; four brothers, Victor Morgan, Harley Morgan, Ernest Morgan, and Charley Morgan; and one sister, Ethel Strong. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Busch Funeral Home, Elizabeth, with the Rev. Robert Stanley officiating. Burial will follow in the Knights of Pythias Cemetery, Elizabeth. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today, and from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral
