WV KNIFE AND GUN CLUB - Charleston Officer Shot

CHARLESTON OFFICER SHOT - A Charleston police officer was shot after an inmate escaped custody while at CAMC General Saturday afternoon.

Police said the patient, who was being guarded by a Montgomery police officer, was able to get free at about 2:30 p.m. Saturday and got into a struggle with the officer, which spilled into the alleyway behind the hospital. Charleston police responded to help and a Charleston officer was shot by the suspect, who was able to get the Montgomery officer's gun.

That officer's name has not been released at this time, but Charleston Police Chief Steve Cooper said he is OK.

The suspect was taken into custody by the officer who was shot and other Charleston police officers.

This is the second Charleston police officer who has been shot in the last three and a half months.

The suspect, Brian Ogle, was wanted in Tennessee and was arrested by Montgomery police about four days ago following a pursuit. He was being guarded at the hospital by Montgomery police.

The lockdown was lifted just before 4:30 p.m.

CLARKSBURG MAN SHOT - A man was shot early Thursday night on Werninger Street in Clarksburg.

The Clarksburg Police Department has arrested the alleged suspect in the shooting, which took place shortly before 7 p.m. Thursday.

The man shot was transported to United Hospital Center and later flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital after suffering a gunshot wound to the head.

There is no word on his condition at this time.

MAN ARRESTED AT AIRPORT FOR GUN - A West Virginia man was cited by Yeager Police after a gun was found in his bag.

A Transportation Security Administration officer at Yeager Airport spotted a Smith & Wesson .38 caliber revolver in the man's carry-on bag while conducting a routine screening.

He was cited for failure to declare a firearm, and he told Yeager Police he forgot the firearm was in his baggage.

TRIADELPHIA — An Ohio County neighborhood is reeling after a man was fatally shot late Thursday inside a home where a child and two women were hiding from the killer.

Ohio County Sheriff Tom Howard confirmed Friday morning that the man wanted for the shooting death was found dead. The body of Brian Calabrese, 32, of Washington, Pa., was discovered and positively identified by the Pennsylvania State Police in Amwell Township hours after the shooting.

Calabrese was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound inside his vehicle.

Officials have not released the identity of the man Calabrese killed.

Officials said the shooting inside a home on Point Mills Road in Triadelphia late Thursday night stemmed from a disagreement with a former girlfriend.
