West Virginia hunters killed a record 253,235 deer during West Virginia's various hunting seasons in 2002, including 99,187
doe. This year's hunting season included buck, antlerless, muzzleloader, archery and youth/class Q seasons. The Division of Natural Resources said the previous record was 235,305 in 1997. The number of bucks killed during the two-week gun season was down from 2001. |
