WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY-FLASH FLOOD WATCH ISSUED FOR CALHOUN AND REGION

(02/07/2018)
A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 10 PM Wednesday to 9 am EST Wednesday... freezing rain tonight, changing to rain during the predawn hours. Ice accumulations of a few hundreths can be expected.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for Calhoun and multiple counties Tuesday.

The watch is in effect from late Tuesday night through Wednesday afternoon.

The National Weather Service said a large weather system is expected to move through the region Tuesday night and exit late Wednesday afternoon and evening.

Up to 2 inches of rain is possible.

The ground is already wet in the lowlands, and there is snow in the mountains. Runoff and melting snow flowing into the rivers could cause problems.

Flooding of low lying and poor drainage areas and roads along streams, creeks and rivers are possible, the weather service said.
