| 5-30-2018 - A Spencer man and former Calhoun resident, Keith Allen Tanner, 35, has been indicted by a Roane County Grand Jury. He was indicted on felony charges involving child pornography and sexual abuse of a person in a position of trust involving a 12-year-old girl who attended girl scout meetings, where his wife was a leader. Deputies said Keith Allen Tanner, 35, admitted to sending lewd photos of himself to a 12-year-old girl, according to the Roane County Sheriffs Department. Tanner had served in Afghanistan and Iraq. Deputies said that Tanner claimed to be the assistant Girl Scout troop leader in Spencer, but the Black Diamond Girl Scouts said he was not approved in any capacity, but his wife was a leader. While being questioned about the allegations, deputies said Tanner admitted to having physical contact with the same child during a Girl Scout meeting in November of 2017. Tanner is charged with child erotica, distributing or displaying obscene matter to a minor, and sexual abuse by a parent or guardian. Authorities said Tanner has had access to a number of children and there may be other victims in the case that have not yet come forward. He is in Central Regional Jail on $100,000 bond. Tanner is accused of exchanging nude photos with a 12-year-old girl is being held in Central Regional Jail. Roane County Sheriff's Deputies say they arrested Keith Allen Tanner Saturday. Deputies say he admitted to exchanging nude photos with a 12-year-old girl. He also admitted to groping and kissing the victim at a Girl Scout outing in November 2017. Tanner is also charged with Distributing/Display Obscene Material to a Minor and Child Erotica, according to Central Regional Jail with bond set at $100,000.
