Kathryn June (Kookie) Harris, 58, of Grantsville, West Virginia was surrounded by her family as she departed this world for her heavenly home January 26, 2018.
She was born June 15, 1959 in Spencer, WV. She was the youngest of eleven children born to the late Walter and Euleta Jones of Grantsville.
Kookie was an amazing person. She was a wife, mother, grandmaw, sister and aunt. Many of her nieces referred to her as their second mom. She was always the person you could depend on if you needed help. She opened her heart to feel what others felt. She was caring, loving and ever so special to anyone that truly knew her. To know her was to love her.
Kookie is survived by her husband of 41 years, Jerry "Fuzzy" Harris, children, Jennifer (Roger) Longwell of Vienna, WV and Jessica (Timothy) Bevel of Grantsville; four grandchildren Tesa Longwell, Taneekah Longwell, Mackenzie Bevel, Mackenna (Tiny Tot) Bevel; four brothers, Bill (Nellie) Jones, Paul (Judy) Jones, Donzel "Nick" (Terry) Jones, and Walter "Junior" Jones; five sisters, Sharon (Dean) Stull, Mary (Dink) Bower, Judy (Don) Westfall, Charlotte (Terry) Robinson and Debbie (Terry) Varner and in-laws Terry (Nick) Jones, Mike (Tammy) Harris, Sandy (Dennis) McCumbers, and Bert (John) Roberts.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, John Jones, also preceded in death by sister-in-law, Annabelle Jones.
A funeral service will be held at Bethlehem Baptist Church on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Barry Miller and Rev. Rick Metheney officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Grantsville, WV. Interment will be in Bethlehem Cemetery.
