PHONE SERVICE DISRUPTED IN 655 CALL AREA

Phone service is disrupted in Calhoun's 655 call area starting early Sunday afternoon. Calhoun 911 said they are unable to receive or send calls from the 655 area. Internet service is also disrupted. Other 354 areas are also having disruptions. Possibly using a cell phone to report emergencies. No other details available, although a report said there is a problem with a fiber optic cable.
