| Jerry Glen McKown, 57, of Orma, Calhoun County, died Friday January 12, 2018 after one of the last of many battles with illness.
He was born April 2, 1960 in Grantsville, WV, the son of the late Lee (Jr.) and Marie Wallbrown McKown of Arnoldsburg, WV.
Jerry spent his life working outdoors timbering, working pipeline, and various other jobs that, while hard, made him happy. Even though he was a hard worker, he loved and played harder. On and off the past 20 years, illness has played a large part of Jerry's life, but he wouldn't want to be remembered for that. The family asks that everyone keep all the pranks, laughs, jokes, work ethic, and above all else, caring and loving nature that was so ingrained into who Jerry was first and foremost in their memories of him.
He is survived by his wife Barbara Reip McKown; daughter, Jamie McKown (Jeremy Ferrell); sons, Jerry Glen (Jessica) McKown, Jr. and Justin (Holly) McKown; nine grandchildren, Jerry Glen McKown III, James Payden Cole McKown, Charleigh-Ann Marie McKown, Sarah Lynn Deem, Katelyn Nicole Deem, David Mathew Deem, Brealle Masun Arthur, Braydon Clay McKown, and Braylea Breanne McKown.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc., Arnoldsburg, WV at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be held Monday, January 15, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Interment will be on his family farm.
