She was born November 17, 1923 in Roane County, a daughter of the late Harry S. and Goldie Bly Reed Holswade.

Alice is survived by her children, Patricia (Gary) Riggs, David N. Ryan, and Lesa (Antonio) Perez; and two granddaughters, Alissa Perez and Lauren (Tyson) Dabney. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. (Nick) Ryan.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, January 20, 2017 at the TAYLOR-VANDALE FUNERAL HOME in Spencer with Rev. James Epling officiating. A gathering of friends and family will be an hour before the service. Burial will take place at the Eventide Cemetery in Spencer at a later date.
