| Richard Burl Postalwait, 78, of Grantsville, Calhoun County WV died January 6, 2018 after a short struggle with cancer.
He was born October 28, 1939 to and preceded in death by Orville & Olga (Boggs) Postalwait at Stinson, WV. He was a member of Cortland Lodge #529 F&AM. He enlisted in the Army in 1956 and upon Honorable discharge he worked in the automotive industry. He was a proud member of UAW 1112, retiring from General Motors. Burl spent his retirement years working full time as a 911 dispatcher. He enjoyed fishing bass tournaments and attending basket bingo.
He is survived by his son Richard G. Postalwait and daughter-in-law Debbie A. Postalwait of Calhoun County, West Virginia, and his son Kevin B. Postalwait of Ripley, West Virginia; and his sister Betty Price of Arnoldsburg, West Virginia.
Burl was also preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn J. (McCartney) Postalwait, his brother Blaine Postalwait, his brother-in-law Richard Price. Burl maintained a close relationship to his wife's family after her death including Robert J. "Tink" and Virginia Erlewine; Orlen G. and Linda McCartney; Charles and Patricia Bollinger; and their children and grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc., Arnoldsburg, WV on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Rick Metheney officiating followed by Masonic Funeral Grand Honors at the Mt. Zion UMC Cemetery.
