The Calhoun County Prosecutor has released the year end case numbers for Calhoun County in 2017.
According to Prosecutor Johnson, there were 29 felony cases processed through Circuit Court and 388 misdemeanor cases filed in Calhoun County Magistrate Court. Further, the Prosecutor's Office handled 47 abuse and neglect cases, 8 juvenile status offender cases, and 6 juvenile delinquency petitions in Circuit Court.
Prosecutor Johnson also noted that she was in court an average of 16 days per month in 2017. It should be noted that, on average, there are only 20.5 business days per month.
Johnson conducted three felony jury trials in 2017.
