James F. Richards, 81 - St. Marys

James F. Richards, 81, of St. Marys, WV, passed away, December 27, 2017, at Carehaven of Pleasants in Belmont, WV. He was born, September 11, 1936, in Calhoun County, WV, a son of the late Shirley Ivan and Idella Radabaugh Richards. Jim was a graduate of Calhoun County High School, and a U. S. Navy Veteran. He operated Richards Grocery in Calhoun County from 1965 to 1981 and then moved to Pennsylvania and worked various jobs, working for a printing company and as a meat cutter for a local grocery store. His hobbies included poetry, woodworking and gardening. Jim is survived by his son, Bill Richards of St. Marys, WV, three siblings, Regina Spring of Kingwood, WV, Mack Richards of Spring Valley Area of Wirt County, WV, and Milford Richards of Parkersburg, WV, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Evelyn Richards, brother, Charlie Richards, and a sister, Greeta Ball. Graveside services were held Sunday, December 31, 2017, 2:30 P. M. at Nobe Cemetery in Calhoun County, WV.
