Robert Edward "Bobby" Thompson age 63 of Glenville, WV departed this life suddenly on Thursday evening, December 28, 2017 at the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. Born May 30, 1954, Bobby is the son of the late Russell Thompson and Coleta Hardman Thompson.
Bobby was a graduate of Gilmer County High School, class of 1972. He worked as a welders assistant for many years, and was a Catholic by faith. In his free time, he enjoyed collecting antiques, hauling scrap, and he was a member of the Fraternal Order of Freemasons.
On July 28, 2009 Bobby was united in marriage to Melocena "Melody" Landoy Thompson, who survives at their Glenville home.
Along with his wife, Bobby is survived by a step-daughter, Mary Ann Escarda of Gassaway, close friends, Lori Plummer and Lisa Smarr of Glenville, and a host of other family and friends.
Preceding Bobby in death are his parents, Russell and Coleta, and first wife, Sandra K. Rice Thompson.
A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc; 2 Vanhorn Dr; Glenville, WV 26351 at 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 3, 2018 with Father Chuck McGinnis officiating. Burial will follow in the Thompson Family Cemetery. Friends will be received from 11-1 Wednesday morning at the mortuary.
