Miller caught by Federal Marshals, charged with Stevens murder

2017-12-19 7:00 PM - United States Marshals have arrested two more people believed to be involved in the murder of Eugene Stevens, 77, of Cain Road, Calhoun County.

Four suspects have been arrested the day prior to Stevens funeral.

US Marshals, the Braxton County Sheriff's Office and West Virginia State Police, made the arrests Tuesday evening along Leatherwood Road, which is located near the Frametown exit of I-79.

Marshals with the Northern and Southern Districts, along with Task Force Officers from Cabell and Harrison Counties had been involved in the manhunt for the suspects.

Jamie Lee Miller, 31 of Crummies Creek and Heather Davis, 27, of Calhoun (above) were both taken into custody after investigators found them staying at a camper located on a friend's property.

Miller is facing charges of first degree murder, armed robbery and conspiracy. Davis is charged with armed robbery and conspiracy.

Central Regional Jail says multiple charges have been filed against Davis, including conspiracy to inflict injury to person or property, possession with intent to deliver schedule 3 drugs, possession with intent to deliver schedule IV drugs, person prohibited with a firearm, robbery or attempted robbery.

Travis Boggs, 25, of Stinson and Evan Hershman, 29, of Lizemores have already been charged in connection with the murder and robbery of Eugene Stevens, 77.

Stevens was found dead of gunshot wounds at his home on on Dec. 5, according to West Virginia State Police.

Troopers have previously said they believed Stevens was trying to defend himself in a home invasion when he fired shots, wounding Boggs.

Troopers said that Boggs was dumped at the Minnie Hamilton emergency room in Grantsville with gunshot wounds to his head and stomach by a group of people who fled the scene.

Arrested earlier, Travis Boggs, 25, of Chloe (Stinson), charged with nighttime burglary and conspiracy to inflict injury to person or property and conspiracy and Evan Lee Hershman, 29, of Lizemores, is charged with armed robbery and conspiracy.
