CALHOUN MEN BOUND OVER TO CIRCUIT COURT IN SHOOTING INCIDENTS

Two Calhoun men appeared for arraignment hearings Thursday regarding separate incidents, one involving a murder and the other shooting a person following a dispute.

Travis Boggs, 25, of Chloe (Stinson) who is charged with nighttime burglary and conspiracy to inflict injury to person or property, appeared before Magistrate Lora Davis in Grantsville.

Boggs waived his preliminary hearing and his case is bound over to the Calhoun Circuit Court.

Boggs is the second person arrested related to the murder of Eugene Stevens, 77, who died in a blaze of gunfire. Boggs suffered severe gunshot wounds in what police described as a home invasion.

He is in Central Regional Jail with bond set at $100,000.

The case against a Chloe, Calhoun man, Thomas Wayne Cain, 52, was bound over to the Calhoun Circuit Court after magistrate Davis found probable cause.

Cain is facing an attempted murder charge related to the shooting of Scott Butler, about 40, on December 7 on Walnut Road.

Cain is in Central Regional Jail with bond set at $100,000.
