UPDATE: ROANE MAN SHOT BY ARROW WAS FALSE INFORMATION - Authorities Now Seeking Vincent Thompson

UPDATE 11/15/2017 - A Roane County man who reported last month that she was shot by a stray arrow while working on a farm, reportedly issued a false claim to authorities.

Vincent Thompson, who said he was out working on a farm when he was shot by a rogue arrow, lied about the wound, according to Roane deputies. They say it appears that it was self-inflicted.

Thompson is now wanted for reporting a false emergency.

If you see him, you are asked to call 911.

ORIGINAL 10/25/2017 -The Roane County Sheriff's Department investigated a shooting Monday at 2:20 p.m. involving an arrow in the county.

According to a release from the Roane County Sheriff's Department, a man identified as Vincent Thompson was walking on property on Peter's Cave Road in northern Roane County when he was shot in the lower leg by an arrow.

They said Thompson was near a chicken coup where he was working.

According to the Sheriff's Department, the subject was near a right-of-way that leads to a roadway. It is possible that unknown subjects were hunting from the roadway, and shot in his direction.

Police are now saying the arrow was likely shot from the roadway.

Thompson's injuries were not considered serious.
