NEW WV HUNTING REGULATIONS OUTLINED

(08/30/2017)
New West Virginia hunting regulations for fall hunting of deer, bear and wild turkey have been included in a summary now available at Division of Natural Resources district offices, from hunting and fishing license agents and on the division's website.

Sunday hunting on private land is now legal in all 55 counties only with written permission from the landowner following a change enacted by the Legislature and signed into law.

According to the division, every year more than 350,000 hunters go into West Virginia's woods.

Among other changes, all deer taken by hunters Nov. 20-21 in Hampshire, Mason and Upshur counties are required to be taken to a designated Biological Game Examination Station.
