CALHOUN CIRCUIT COURT BUSY WITH CRIMINAL CASES - Court Scheduled For Tuesday

July 25th: Judge Anita Harold Ashley held Circuit Court in Grantsville, with prosecutor Shannon Johnson bringing the cases.

Jacob Dodd appeared for a Pre-Trial Hearing on his charges of Possession of Pre-Cursors to Manufacture Methamphetamine and Conspiracy. His case was set for Pre-Trial Hearing on September 28, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. and for Trial on October 31, 2017 at 9:00 A.M.

Bryant Hall and Michael Hall, Jr., appeared for a Pre-Trial Hearing on their charges of Burglary and Conspiracy. Their case is set for Trial on August 1, 2017.

Dennis Sears appeared for a Pre-Trial hearing on his charges of Sexual Assault by a Parent, Guardian, or Custodian, and Sexual Assault in the First Degree. The Court shall take up further Pre-Trial issues in the case on September 14, 2017.

Gary Ferrell appeared for a Pre-Trial Hearing on his charges of Delivery of a Controlled Substance and Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. This case was set for trial on August 1, 2017.

The Court heard 23 Juvenile cases.

July 26th: Judge Anita Harold Ashley returned to Calhoun County for Circuit Court.

Robert Michael Bennett, a fugitive from out of state appeared and waived extradition to face charges in the other state. Ronald Huffman failed to appear for Sentencing following his guilty plea to Possession with Intent to Deliver and Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a Felony. A capias was issued for his arrest and he shall be sentenced on the next judicial day following his arrest.

February Michelle Williams appeared for Sentencing following her conviction on Embezzlement by a jury. Judge Ashley sentenced her to one to ten years in the state penitentiary. The Judge suspended the execution of that sentence and placed Mrs. Williams on five years supervised probation. Mrs. Williams must serve sixty consecutive weekends in the Regional Jail and must make restitution to the victims, Kenny and Debbie Arnold and Jack and Janet Marks in the amount of $17,446.85.

Rickey Carpenter, Jr. failed to appear for a Hearing on the State's Motion to Revoke his Home Confinement. The Court issued a bench warrant and ordered that the Motion be heard on the first Court day following his arrest.

Ivan Wise appeared and entered a guilty plea to Conspiracy to commit Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a Felony. Mr. Wise will be sentenced on September 28, 2017.

Andrew Woodring entered a guilty plea to Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a Felony. Mr. Woodring will be sentenced on September 28, 2017.

Prosecutor Johnson said Adam Dunn, Adam Miller, and Alicia Walker appeared for a Pre-Trial Hearing on their charges of Kidnaping, Burglary, Malicious Assault, and Conspiracy. The Court granted the State's motion to continue the trial set for August 1, 2017. The Court will reschedule the matter at a later date.

Adam Dunn, Alicia Walker, Trudy Dowler, and Derryl Anderson appeared for a Pre-Trial Hearing on their charges of Murder, Armed Robbery, and Conspiracy. The Court granted the State's motion to continue the trial set for August 1, 2017. The Court will reschedule the matter at a later date.

Zachary Shook appeared and entered a guilty plea to Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a Felony. Mr. Shook will be sentenced on September 28, 2017.

Daniel Slider appeared for a year-end review of his probationary period. The Court determined that Mr. Slider had successfully completed his probationary period and ordered that he stand convicted of the misdemeanor offense of Fleeing in a Vehicle.

David Jacob Jones appeared on the State's Motion to Revoke his Bond. Mr. Jones made admissions that he had violated terms of his bond. The Court revoked his bond and ordered that he be held in the custody of the Regional Jail Authority pending trial.

The Court also heard 8 juvenile hearings.

July 26th: Judge Craig Tatterson held Circuit Court in Grantsville. Cicily Ullum appeared for a Pre-Trial Hearing on her charges of Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance. Her case is set for trial on November 28, 2017.

Philip Knicely failed to appear for a Pre-Trial Hearing. A bench warrant was issued for his arrest.

The Court also heard two juvenile hearings.

Judge Anita Harold Ashley will appear in Calhoun County on August 1, 2017 for trials.
