(07/10/2017)
The West Virginia Department of Education has put new requirements in place for students entering preschool, kindergarten and students entering the second and seventh grades.

These students will now have to show proof of a dental examination and a completed Health Check exam, according to the Department of Education.

The department said students entering the seventh and 12th grades are no required to show proof of up-to-date Tdap and meningitis vaccinations.

Parents must provide a record of completed immunizations on or before the first day of school. A release from the Department of Education said if a record of up-to-date immunizations is not provided, the student may be excluded from attending school.

Calhoun schools open on Monday, August 14.
