NORMANTOWN WOMAN SENTENCED TO PRISON OVER EMBEZZLEMENT

A Gilmer County woman has been sentenced to prison related to check forgery, according to Times Record/Roane County Reporter. Cristy Jo McCune, 32,of Normantown, was one of three people involved in forging checks at several Spencer businesses. She was sentenced 1-10 years and 1-5 years for conspiracy in Roane Circuit Court, serving both sentences at the same time. She was ordered to pay $900 in restitution to victims, including WalMart, WV-DMV, among other businesses. The checkbook had been stolen.
