BIG SPRINGS WOMAN INDICTED IN DEATH OF INFANT - Orma Woman Indicted DUI Serious Injury, Jones Facing Multiple Charges

A Big Springs woman has been indicated for the drowning death of her one-year-old daughter, found face down in a bathtub in Roane County.

Athena RaeAnn Adams, 40, was indicted by a Roane grand jury on a charge of child neglect resulting in death.

Adams was arrested last month with her husband Virgil Michael Adams, 39, with the grand jurors opting not to indict him.

Prosecutor Josh Downey indicated the jury did not find enough to indict the father.

ROANE GRAND JURY

David Allen Bailey, 30, was indicted for child neglect creating risk of injury or death, related to his 4-year-old daughter who was found wandering on a main street in Spencer. Police said Bailey was in possession of meth.

Tammy L. Hively, 49, of Wolf Run, Orma, was indicted for DUI resulting in serious injury and for reckless driving. The accident resulted in two people being airlifted to Charleston for injuries.

Eric Ray Jones, 25, of Lower Nicut and Angela Sears, 36, of Ivydale, were indicted on first degree burglary, grand larceny, obstructing and officer, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, and four counts of conspiracy.
