CLAY MAN ATTACKS OFFICERS SERVING WARRANT

A Clay County man, Glennis Earl Abbott, 56, is in Central Regional Jail charged with battery on an officer with an attempt to disarm or attempt to disarm a law enforcement officer. Clay sources say that officers from the sheriff's office went to Abbott's house to serve a mental hygiene petition. Abbott then allegedly ran head-on at officers and knocked them through the front door, and punching the officers, with an officer attempting to spray him. Abbott then struck one of the officers in the face, and according to arrest records attempted to disarm.
