CALHOUN WOMAN FOUND GUILTY EMBEZZLEMENT $17,000 FROM MT. ZION PIT STOP

A Calhoun woman has been found guilty of embezzling money from the former Pit Stop, a convenience store at Mount Zion.

Following a two-day trial, February Michelle Williams, was found guilty of a felony count of embezzlement on February 20.

The jury found that Williams had embezzled cash from the Mount Zion Pit Stop from June 1, 2013 to December 31, 2013, according to prosecutor Shannon Jones.

It was alleged by the State that Ms. Williams had taken over seventeen thousand four hundred forty six dollars and eighty five cents ($17,446.85) from her employers.

Circuit Judge Anita Harold Ashley will sentence Williams on July 26, 2017 at 9:30 A.M. in the Circuit Court of Calhoun County.
