2-YEAR-OLD ROANE CHILD DIES AFTER BEING FOUND IN CREEK

4/01/2017 - A 2-year-old girl who went missing in the Green Creek area of Walton in Roane County Friday night has died.

Walton Volunteer Fire Chief John Kelly confirmed the information. He said that crews found her in the creek Friday evening and rushed her to Roane General Hospital.

First responders were alerted about the missing girl around 6:30 p.m. Friday in the Green Creek Area.

Responders said the child was left briefly on a front porch, and then wandered away to be found in a rain swollen creek.

No other information has been released at this time.

UPDATE 3/31/17 @ 9:42 p.m. ROANE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A 2-year-old girl who went missing in the Walton area of Roane County was found in a creek. That is according to Fire Chief John Kelly with the Walton Volunteer Fire Department. 3/31/2017 - 8:10 p.m. dispatchers in Roane County say the 2-year-old girl who went missing Friday has been found.

3/31/2017 -A search and rescue is underway in the Walton area of Roane County.

Roane 911 di8spatchers dispatchers said several crews are searching for a missing 2-year-old.

The call came into 911 just before 6:30 p.m. Friday.

Green Creek is a remote area off Ambler Ridge.
