1/2017 - Forty-seven-year old Calhoun County 911/OES Director Kathy Wood of Chloe died Sunday (1-22-2017) from what family members indicated was a heart attack.
Funeral services have been set for Friday (Jan. 27) at 7 p.m. at the Stump Funeral Home in Arnoldsburg with visitation one hour prior the service.
Wood was hired as Calhoun's E-911 and Office of Emergency Service Director in 2009, having previously been the OES Director.
Calhoun Commission President Chip Westfall said "I am sad and shocked over her sudden death. She was a dutiful public servant, difficult to replace."
Wood had previously worked as a WV corrections officer, as an EMT and as a 911 dispatcher.
Wood, shown with retired Sheriff Carl Ballengee, often
extended her services to help the entire Calhoun community
