FIRST MEASURABLE SNOW OF WINTER - Roads Cause Motorists Problems

The first measurable snowfall of the winter came to the area Thursday, with school dismissing at noon. The highways got slick Thursday night, with several vehicles landing in the ditch. The Grantsville VFD, the Calhoun ambulance service and State Police was dispatched to a car striking a tree at the intersection of Sugar Camp and Yellow Creek Road at 7:10 p.m. Before they could arrive, they were advised that the vehicle left the scene.
