People are moving out of the Tri-State area, according to an annual study by Allied Van Lines.

West Virginia, Ohio and Kentucky are all in the top 10 of states where people are moving from.

New Jersey is the most moved out of state in 2016, according to the study.

"This year's data clearly reflects retirees' location preferences. We are seeing more retirees than ever decide to relocate, and as a result, new retirement hubs are popping up in Western and Southern states, said Michael A. Stoll, economist, professor in the Department of Public Policy at the University of California, Los Angeles.
