BRAXTON MAN CHARGED WITH KIDNAPPING AND STEALING MONEY FROM GRANDMOTHER

(11/03/2016)
A Braxton man, Doy Taylor III, of Sutton, has been arrested and charged with kidnapping, after police say, he tied his grandmother up and stole her money and her car.

Taylor supposedly tied shoelaces around his grandmother's wrist and a power cord around her neck. He then drug her from the living room into the bathroom, where he barricaded the door with household items.

Braxton County State Police said Taylor took $59 from her purse, because he planned to buy a pack of cigarettes and go to the bar for a drink.

Geneva Taylor, the grandmother, was able to get out of the bathroom and call 911. She suffered minor injuries from being dragged across carpet.

Police tracked Taylor down, after he took off in her car.

Taylor is being charged with kidnapping, armed robbery, petit and grand larceny and is in Central Regional Jail.
