FACEMIRE FOODS YET TO OFFER EXPLANATION ABOUT BARE FOODLAND SHELVES

10/18/2016 - Facemire Foods, who operates the Grantsville Foodland, has yet to make a statement regarding the future of the store, while social media is expressing concerns about its operation.

Residents say that many items have not been restocked, and the shelves continue to become more bare.

FOODLAND SHELVES GETTING BARE - Company Will Release Statement Monday10/16/2016 -During the past few weeks, Calhoun residents have expressed concern about the future of Foodland, the county's only supermarket located in Grantsville.

Residents report that about half of the shelves are bare.

The Hur Herald has reached out to Facemire Foods regarding the matter.

General Manager Steve Ferrell said the company will issue a statement regarding the matter on Monday, indicating the company is going through some major operational changes, and expects to continue operation.

Reports indicate all of Facemire food stores are experiencing problems.

Rumors and posts on social media have reported the impending closure or sale of Grantsville's Foodland, owned by Facemire Foods in Gassaway.

The latest rumor has the business being sold to Shoppers Value.

Steve Ferrell, General Manager of Facemire Foods, says there is no truth in the Facebook and social media rumors, and that the store will continue doing business as usual.

Ferrell said the store will continue to provide the high level of service to the Calhoun community.
