| A Mt. Zion woman who was serving as a caregiver for an elderly woman, identified as 34-year-old Lora M. Griffin, has been charged by the West Virginia State Police with petit larceny.
A criminal complaint says that the family of Mary L. Bragg of Mt. Zion was suspicious when large amounts of money appeared to be missing from the elderly woman's checking account, in addition to money being missing from her wallet.
Griffin, according to the complaint, had worked a few hours a day at the elderly woman's household for some time.
A family member, identified as William Butt, installed a camera to scrutinize the residence, which revealed Griffin taking money from the victim's wallet.
Police said they had Griffin view the accusatory camera recordings, the criminal complaint indicating Griffin then admitted to taking some money.
