17-YEAR-CICADA ROAR HAS FADED IN CALHOUN

(06/17/2016)

A few cicadas are making some noise in the Calhoun County woods, a county which is about 90% forested.

They will return to their earthen nests to slumber for the next 17 years.

Many trees show the effects of their meals, the tender branches, many now dying and falling to the ground.

In the Village of Hur we are joyful to once again sit in the great outdoors in relative peace.
