WV KNIFE AND GUN CLUB - Brother Shoots Brother In Face

(05/26/2016)
BROTHERLY SHOOTING - A family argument in Vienna quickly escalated to violence, landing one man in the hospital, and one behind bars.

Half-brothers Scott Baker and John Calvin began arguing in their home Tuesday night.

Vienna Police say Baker briefly left the room, returned with a .38 caliber handgun, and shot Conrad in the face.

When police responded to the shooting on 34th Street, they immediately transported Conrad to the hospital, and arrested Baker for attempted murder.

Baker is behind bars in North Central Regional Jail, on a $100,000 bond.

Police say Conrad is in stable condition at Ruby Memorial Hospital.

HARRISON VIOLENCE - A Harrison County man is in custody after allegedly stabbing a neighbor, and threatening to shoot others.

According to the Harrison County Sheriff's Department, one man walked over to his neighbor's house on Pine Bluff Road, in Pine Bluff, shortly after 7 p.m., Wednesday. That's when he stabbed someone in the home. That person was taken to the hospital. There's no word on how the victim is doing.

The suspect then went over to another neighbor's home, where he apparently threatened to shoot people. Neighbors told police the man had both a bow and arrow and a rifle.

A short standoff then began when the suspect left and barricaded himself in his own home for about 10 minutes. Police say he ended up coming out on his own, peacefully.

Police have not identified that suspect. Charges are pending.
