ROARING FIRE DESTROYS DWELLINGS OFF SYCAMORE ROAD - Firemen Have Problems With Access

Fire struck near the George Parsons place off Sycamore Road near Russett Tuesday night, reportedly destroying an adjacent mobile home. The Grantsville VFD responded to the incident at 9:30 p.m., with firemen having difficultly getting trucks to the scene, the long access road was described as treacherous. A least one truck managed to get to the fire and kept the main dwelling safe. Calhoun 911 was notified that all occupants were out of the dwelling. From a nearby hillside roaring flames appeared to be leaping 50-60 feet in the air, with what one resident described as thousands of rounds of ammo exploding.
