WV KNIFE AND GUN CLUB - Man Shoots Wife In Face, Man Kills Two Harpers Ferry Women

MAN SHOOTS WIFE - West Virginia State Police said the man who was taken into custody in Morgantown Friday after a large-scale search was wanted for shooting his wife in the face in Randolph County.

Donald L. Nelson, 41, was detained about 1 p.m. by security at Ruby Memorial Hospital, where his wife was being transported after she was shot earlier in the day. State Police responded to the reported shooting about 9:50 a.m. at a residence on Job Road in Whitmer.

The victim was identified as Roxana Nelson. She continues to be treated at Ruby Memorial, and her injuries do not appear to be life threatening.

State Police said that Donald Nelson left the area following the shooting. His vehicle was located in the hospital parking lot. Troopers responded to the hospital and arrested Nelson, who is now charged with one count of malicious wounding.

TWO WOMEN MURDERED IN HARPERS FERRY - A shooting on White Dogwood Place in Harpers Ferry Friday shortly before 1 p.m. has resulted in the death of two women.

Jefferson County Sheriff Pete Dougherty said what started as a response to a domestic violence call took a turn for the worse when they found the bodies of the women near the rear porch of the house.

James Clark, 83, was found in the residence and had been apprehended without incident according to Dougherty.

Clark was arraigned before a Jefferson County Magistrate on two counts of 1st degree murder at around 4:00 p.m. on Friday, and he was transported to the Eastern West Virginia Regional Jail where he is currently being held without bond.

The two deceased victims have been identified as 79-year-old Shirley Clark, and her daughter, 60-year-old Elizabeth Ann Mansfield.

The investigation will continue into the evening as Sheriff's Deputies conduct a court ordered search of the residence.
