Emogene Bowers, 73 - Spencer

Emogene Bowers, 73, of Spencer, West Virginia, went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 10, 2016.

Emogene worked at Kellwood Company for many years. She loved flowers and gardening, was known for her kind and generous heart and was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

She was the daughter of the late Vear and Mabel Louk Metz of Arnoldsburg, West Virginia, wife of the late Harold Bowers, sister of the late Grace Metz, and was also preceded in death by an infant son.

Emogene is survived by a son, Larry (Cheryl) Bowers of Spencer; her grandchildren, Shawn (Carrie) Bowers of Ripley, West Virginia and Brandon Bowers of Spencer; sisters, Mary (Grover) Butler of Arnoldsburg, Elsie Hamrick of Massillon, Ohio, and Bertha (Phillip) Dyer of Kentucky; and a brother, Warren (Bonnie) Metz of Shreve, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved pet and companion, Rusty.

A private family service will be held at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer. There will be no viewing or public service.
