She was born December 8, 1942, at Akron, Ohio, a daughter of the late Clyde Short and the late Luna Davis Yost.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Woodford Yost; and daughter, Mary Jane King.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Charles Robert King; sons, Charles Robert King, Jr. of Doylestown, Ohio and Clifford R. King of Chloe; daughter, Melinda Sampson also of Chloe; eight grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; sister, Ellen Fiekert of Smithville, Ohio; brothers, Bill Yost of Rosedale WV, Ron Yost of Servia WV and Bob Yost of Rittman, Ohio.

There will be a gathering of family and friends from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, April 30 at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer.
