SAMPSON ARRESTED FOR BURGLARY IN CLAY - State Police Look For Stolen Car Suspect

Authorities in Clay arrested a Calhoun-Clay man Tuesday.

Travis Wayne Sampson, 29, has been charged with burglary, driving revoked DUI-1st, trespassing and possession of marijuana.

He is in Central Regional Jail.

State Police in Calhoun, Roane and Clay County were searching for a former Chloe man after a car was stolen Tuesday afternoon on Ripley Road near Spencer.

Police indicated the car was found on or near State Rt. 14 in Roane County, but the suspect was apparently not with the vehicle.

State Police responded to Calhoun Homes Tuesday after a gun went off in an apartment, reportedly shooting into a wall.

Police indicated the discharge was accidental.
