Herbert Neal Arnold, 81, of Vienna

Herbert Neal Arnold, 81, of Vienna, formerly of Coolville, passed away April 17, 2016, at the St. Francis Hospital in Charleston.

Herb was born in Nicut, W.Va., January 19, 1935, one of five children of the late Roy E. and Alice Marie Knotts Arnold.

He proudly served his country in the US Army in Germany with the 11th Armored Division-Cavalry. Herb had worked at Borg Warner for twenty seven years and retired from Safety Klean in 1998 after twelve years with the company. He was a member of Porterfield Baptist Church.

Surviving Herb are his wife of fifty-five years, Joyce Newell Arnold; three sons, Mark Arnold (Tammy) of St. Louis; Matthew Arnold (Lorie) of Youngstown and Jon Arnold (Amy) of Nashville; one daughter, Tammy Whitnable (Mike) of Vincent; eight grandchildren, Ryan Whitnable (Erica), Kristen Whitnable, Andrew Arnold, Aaron Arnold, Ben Arnold, Steve Arnold, Lily Arnold, and Larry Armes; and one brother, David Edsel Arnold.

In addition to his parents, Herb was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Jennifer Arnold; two infant brothers; and an infant sister.

The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre, with Pastor Mark Eaton officiating. Burial will be at the Torch Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 - 8 on Wednesday and for one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
