Thomas Bower, 86, Akron OH, passed away on Monday, April 11, 2016. He was born in Richie County, West Virginia on April 3, 1930 to the late S.F. and Nellie (Thomas) Bower of Calhoun. Tom worked in the Tool Room/Machine Shop at The Babcock and Wilcox Company in Barberton, retiring in 1992, after 44 years of service. Tom was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Mary Lue (Phillips) on August 12, 2013; grandparents, W.W. and Bessie (Riggs) Bower of Big Bend, WV, C.J. and Geneva (Wells) Thomas of Joker, WV; and sister, Carole Taylor. He is survived by his daughter, Jan (Mark) Householder; and nephew, Terry (Pat) Taylor. Graveside services will be held on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Big Bend Cemetery in Big Bend, West Virginia. Donations in Tom's name may be made to The Giving Doll, P.O.
